Take My Scars Advertising Posters

Now Take My Scars is beginning to be formed into the final feature-length production. FalconPunch Productions have released posters advertising the film. Featuring actors in the film.

Last of Filming

On 24th February, I met up with Lizz Parry at her house in Geddington to complete the remained of our filming. When it has been downloaded onto the Mac computers, our group will now be able to begin editing our film together.

Change of Storyboard

In the storyboard, at the end, the group decide that a murder victim should be burned on a fire, unfortunately, creating a manageable fire has proved too difficult to do, so instead the murder victim will be brutally attacked using a large knife. This makes filming much easier to complete and will make the feature-length production much more realistic. A re-adjusted storyboard will be added in the near future.

Continuation of Filming

After filming at the Alfred East Gallery, the group decided to return there as more filming is required. Over the next week or so, the filming should be completed, ready for editing.

Start of Filming

On 3rd February 2011, myself, Matthew Johns and Lizz Parry began filming for the opening few minutes to the feature-length horror film, 'Take My Scars'. The filming took place at the Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering and a selection of extras were used.

Locations for Filming

24th January

My group and I used our storyboard and looked at possible locations for filming. As both Matthew Johns, and Lizz Parry are based in the Geddington area, it was decided that the majority of filming will take place there. These are a selection of photos taken of the Geddington area that could be used for filming:

The field behind Matthew Johns' house, however, it is usually used by dog walkers so filming here may be a problem.

Film Classification

14th January

My group and I had to look at film certifications to see what can and can't be included in our horror film. The Board of British Film Classification (BBFC) state that these are the guidelines of films rated '15'.

A 15 certificate is rated as a 15 because-

-The film itself does not promote drugs although drug use is shown.
-Horror and threat are a good idea unless it is sadistic or sexualised.
-Offensive language is used but the most offensive words are not used frequently.
-Nudity is allowed but no strong sexual detail may be shown.
-Sexual content is shown but not in any detail.
-Violence is allowed to be shown but the film may not dwell upon inflicting injury, strong images of gore not caused by a setting of war or by accident, will not be allowed. No sadistic or sexual violence is allowed.

Opening Titles

Due to technical issues, I have been unable to update my blog, however I have kept a record of what to blog

9th January

Looking at opening titles to previous horror films and how they are presented during the film, to help give our group an idea of how to edit to titles into our film.

Dawn of the Dead

The opening titles of 'Dawn of the Dead' are played throughout the opening scenes and are elongated over the opening few minutes to allow the audience to experience what will occur during the feature length film.

1) The name of the production company
2)Name of the film
3) Finally, the name of actors appeared, with the most significant actors appearing first.
